The UCSD Libraries, UCSD Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies , UCSD Chinese Studies Program, UCSD Film Studies Program, UCSD Council on East Asian Studies, Hsiu Endowment, 99 Ranch Market, and Panda Express, were proud to host the world's first festival dedicated to Chinese underground films. This three-day event featured thirteen films (with English subtitles) and four lectures delivered by distinguished film directors and scholars. The films have never been publicly distributed or exhibited in China.
